Regent of Parigi Moutong Invites Investors

The Regent of Parigi Moutong (Central Sulawesi), Longky Djanggola, invites domestic and foreign investors to build fruit and cacao processing facilities there, reported Suara Pembaruan on 19 November.

"We need to have plants to process the lychees, snakefruits, mangos, and cacao that grow in abundance all year round in our region," said Longky recently.

He added that the production of lychees in Parigi Moutong is highest in the months of December and January. During these months, the price of lychees drops as the supply is high and there are no facilities to preserve or utilize the fruit.

"Usually the fruit will rot in the people's gardens because the price is low and the farmers cannot afford to harvest the fruit," said Longky. He added that the lychees that grow in Parigi-Moutong are exceptionally sweet.

Other readily available fruits include snakefruit and mango, which both bear fruit almost all year round.

The local government, said Longky, is also inviting investors who may be interested in investing in cacao, which also grows in abundance and is currently exported in raw form to other countries.

Perlu adanya tampilan yg lebih "menggigit" dalam hal kritik terhadap kaum muda yg, mestinya diharapkan, malah berharap bahkan bergantung pada generasi tua.
